Dan Stephenson is the son of Retired Senator Howard Stephenson who has been a LSDM speaker twice this year.  After graduating from the University of Utah, Dan attended Tsinghua University, a major research university in Beijing, for a six month language immersion program.  He subsequently stayed in China for 9 years opening a couple of businesses there.  WIth a Chinese partner he created Economic Bridge, a consulting company focused on helping Chinese companies do business in the U.S. and U.S. companies to more effectively do business in China.  Dan speaks fluent Mandarin and his personal experience living and working in China give him a unique perspective on U.S. - China relations.
